In India, hundreds of children/adults go missing every day. There are hundreds of children/adults who are found dead or alive by police. There are cases where the missing person is located hundreds of miles away from the place where they were reported missing. Currently, there is no easy way to match the missing and found. Whenever, a missing FIR is registered, the photograph of the person is updated in the database along with their details. A picture taken when found can be compared against all missing cases using Facetagr's facial recognition.
When Facetagr technology was applied to the publicly available database of lost and found children at trackthemissingchild.org, Facetagr instantaneously matched more than 150 children across different states in India. The results were provided to the concerned officials for necessary action.
